Course Overview:

Push Around Verticals are essentially small, simple static vertical machines. However, unlike Static Verticals (IPAF category 1a), they have no mechanical drive and are physically pushed around. Popular with contractors and the non-construction sector who are using this type of equipment for low-level access work, The PAV course is a half-day course that covers both theory and practice. Operators who are trained in the categories Static Vertical (1a), Mobile Vertical (3a) or Scissor Lift (old IPAF category SL) will also be able to use a Push Around Vertical (PAV) after being familiarised with the specific machine.

Course Objective:

Following the IPAF proven blend of theory and practical instruction, your employees can develop an awareness of the legal implications, common hazards and precautions, together with the correct driving, operation, pre-use inspection, elevating, lowering and emergency procedures for Push Around Vertical Lifts.

The IPAF Training Course content Includes:

• Introduction
• PAL Card overview and Pre-theory test
• Legislation, Regulations and Guidance
• Pre-Use Inspection/Hand-Over
• Safe Operating Methods & Hazards
• Post -Theory Test
• Practical Training (Genie AWP, Youngman X3 or Pop-Up Vertical Lifts)
• Practical Assessment

Duration:

Half Day – typically 4 hours (AM or PM)

PPE Kit Required:

Our IPAF Training Courses requires each candidate to provide the following PPE:

• Safety Helmet with Chin Strap (available for loan)
• Gloves
• Hi-Vis Vest (available for loan)
• Safety Footwear

Certification:

Upon successfully passing both the written and practical assessments, each delegate's details will be entered on to the IPAF central database and a Certificate of Competency and a Photo-ID Card will be issued that is valid for 5 years.
