The aim of the IPAF Demonstrator Course is to provide each attending delegate with the necessary information, techniques and instruction in the demonstration and familiarisation of mobile elevating work platforms (mewps) in the workplace.

IPAF Categories:

IPAF have changed the classification of their Machine Categories of which the common catagories are: 1a, 1b, 3a, and 3b.

Anyone in an organisation that is called upon to demonstrate or familiarise to others the safe and correct use of scissor lifts, static or self powered telescopic and articulating booms, vertical platforms, vehicle or trailer mounted platforms and booms in the workplace. This not only includes construction sites but all workplaces, such as schools, offices, theatres and factories both internally and externally. All delegates wishing to attend the IPAF Demonstrator training course must have successfully passed the IPAF Operator training course prior to attending and hold a valid IPAF PAL Operator Card in the category that they wish to be trained to demonstrator level. Each delegate who wishes to be considered as a Demonstrator should have a reasonable knowledge of good site safety practice, be confident and a good communicator.

Course Objective:

At the end of the instruction the candidates will be able to:

• Have an understanding of the statutory regulations.
• Identify types of mobile elevating work platform.
• Understand safe working procedures.
• Safely demonstrate a mobile elevating work platform.

The IPAF Training Course content Includes:

• Health & Safety legislation & regulations.

• Limitations and use of mobile elevating work platforms.
• Identifying controls, safety devices and warning alarms.
• Daily and routine inspection and servicing requirements.
• Setting up in preparation for work.
• Ground and site conditions.
• Safe operating techniques.
• Emergency lowering procedures.
• Manufactures Instruction Manuals.
• The use of fall arrest equipment.
• Multi choice test paper
  
• Practical demonstrating test.

Duration:

One Day – typically 7 – 8 hours

PPE Kit Required:

Our IPAF Training Courses requires each delegate to provide the following PPE:

• Safety Helmet with Chin Strap
• Gloves
• Hi-Vis Vest
• Full Body Safety Harness with Short/Adjustable Restraint Lanyard
• Safety Footwear

We do have a limited amount of the above PPE items available for free loan during the course if required. A safety kit comprising of Safety Helmet with Chin Strap, Hi-Vis Vest, Gloves & Harness Kit is available to purchase, please contact us for a competitive quotation.

Certification:

Upon successfully passing both the written and practical assessments, each delegate's details will be entered on to the IPAF central database and a Certificate of Competency and a Photo-ID Card will be issued that is valid for 5 years.
