Abrasive Wheel Instruction Course in accordance to Regulation 9 of the Provision and Use of Work Equipment 1998. This course covers the use of Abrasive Wheels on: Angle Grinders, Bench Top Chop Saws (≤ 350mm) and Portable Cut Off Saws / Disc Cutters (≤ 350mm).

All courses are conducted to a high standard using computer to video projector presentation along with video presentations and supporting samples of products, tools and equipment for practical demonstrations.

Age Limit
All delegates must be at least 18 years of age, reasonably literate, have a comprehension of English language and have no physical disabilities that would preclude them from being considered competent in the use and specification of Abrasive Wheels in the workplace.
 
Aims
Abrasive Wheels are used in many areas and can be highly dangerous if used by untrained personnel. The Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 requires that anyone involved in selecting, mounting, specifying or using abrasive wheels is competent.

The aim of our course is to provide each delegate with the technical knowledge and understanding needed to safely identify, inspect, store, transport, mount and use abrasive wheels (types 27, 41 and 42) in compliance with current legislation.

The course also covers the methods of safe use of abrasive wheels on Angle Grinders, Bench Top Chop Off  Saws and Cut Off Saws and the P. P. E that should be used.

Course Duration
This course is full and usually runs from 9.00am to 1.00pm,including lecture, video presentation, demonstrations and both written and practical assessments. 

Certification
Upon successfully passing the written and practical assessment at the end of the course, each candidate will be issued with a certificate of attendance.

This course is priced at £75.00 + vat per person. For 'on-site' courses please call 0800 085 7115 for a quotation.

This includes all course notes, B.A.F (British Abrasive Federation) and F.E.P.A (Federation of European Producers of Abrasives) approved literature and a Certificate of Attendance. Each delegate will be required to pass both written and practical assessments.
