Course Overview:
In association with a leading manufacturer, Kentec have developed our Basic Safety Harness Course to provide candidates with the essential knowledge required for the selection, wearing, using and the pre-use inspecting of Safety Harnesses, Lanyards and associated accessories while working at height.
Suitable for:
Anyone in an organisation involved in the use of safety harnesses and fall protection equipment in general for working at height.
Course Objective:
The course also aims to equip candidates with a base theoretical knowledge and practical experience required to effectively reduce the risks associated with working at height and using personal fall restraint and arrest equipment and systems, and to carry out with competence pre-use harness and lanyard inspections as required by regulations and approved codes of practice.
The course covers the following areas:
- Safety Legislation, Work at Height Regulations
- Harness Types and Design Standards
- Strength & Characteristics of Fall Prevention Equipment
- Strength & Characteristics of Fall Protection Equipment
- Component Parts of a Fall Arrest System
- Pre-Use Inspection of Harness & Lanyard with Practical Exercise
- Correct Wearing and Fitting of Harness with Practical Exercise
- Storage, Care and Cleaning
- Identifying correct Tie-Off and Anchor Points
- Hazards, Precautions and Rescue Provisions
- Hazard Analysis & Risk Assessment
Duration:
Half Day – typically 4 hours
Certification:
This course is accredited by Kentec Training, and each candidate who successfully completes the course will recieve a Kentec Training Photo ID Card and Certificate.
