CITB Employer Networks

Employer Networks (ENs) are an initiative set up and funded by the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) in 2022 aiming to simplify the way levy-registered employers get the support and funding needed to access the training they want.

The initiative has two main objectives:

• Provide easy access for employers to receive training and financial support, as well as to effectively use available training provisions to address immediate and future skill needs in the construction industry. Employers who are local to an Employer Network can benefit from subsidised eligible training through this service.
• To bring together employers at a local level to help inform CITB on how funding should be prioritised and allocated. This in turn helps to address skills gaps and workforce shortages currently present in the UK construction sector, with a particular focus on what training is most needed in each respective region the employers are local to.

Employer Networks provide funding for up to 70% of the total training costs on any training programme - provided the training is construction-specific and for the benefit of the construction industry. CITB also reduce the administrative burden by assisting employers identify suitable training, locating available training providers (like us here at Kentec), and by supporting the booking process.

Your regional CITB advisor can work with you to identify your business’ training requirements through a Training Needs Analysis, as well as identify if a specific training programme is out of scope and ineligible for funding. To be eligible to join your local CITB Employer Network, you are required to:

• Be a levy-registered employer with CITB.
• Be up to date with your Levy Returns.
• Have an Employer Network in your area
• Ensure that you’re adhering to CITB’s Employer Network Policy
