
Course Overview
Our CAT4 and Signal Generator Operator (inc Data Logging) Course delivers a minimum of 6 hours of theory and practical instruction and is designed to teach up to a maximum of 8 delegates, providing the essential knowledge needed to safely and correctly operate a Radio Detection CAT 4 Cable Avoidance Tool along with a Genny4 when tracing underground services. The afternoon session is dedicated to the CAT Manager and CAT Manager Online modules where delegates will learn how to interpret usage behaviours, explore surveyed locations using google maps and produce surveys and usage reports to be exported.
The course involves hands on use of the Radiodetection CAT4+, eCAT4 and gCAT4 along with the Genny4 to detect and trace the route of buried underground services. This will cover the different types of buried services that exist, current legislation and best practice concerning detecting buried services, the safety implications of not using a locator and associated ancillary equipment, use of local utility plans, observation of evidence in the street etc.
This course consists of a training room lecture, DVD presentation, written assessment, practical training and assessment.
