L.A Ladder & Stepladder for Users Course

This course is aimed at personnel who are or will be responsible for use of Ladders and Stepladders in the workplace. There are no prerequisites required for this course although a working knowledge of ladders is an advantage.

Delegates should be:

• Literate in English and able to understand safety notices and manufacturer instructions.
• Physically fit and capable of lifting and carrying ladders and stepladders.
• Comfortable working at height and free from any fear of heights.
• In good health to safely complete the practical assessment.
• Within the 150kg maximum load limit (including body weight, tools, and materials) as per the revised EN 131 standard.

• Course Aims & Objectives
• Roles & Responsibilities: Covering the legislation, regulations, and duties of all parties involved in Ladder Safety.
• Information: Exploring the current standards in effect for ladder safety.
• Equipment: Developing understanding of the different types of ladders, their components, materials, and how to perform a pre-use inspection.
• Site Task Equipment People (STEP): Planning, organising, selecting and using different ladders and stepladders.
• Storage, Transportation & Maintenance of Ladders & Stepladders
• Personal Hazards
• Theory Assessment
• Practical Assessment

Successful delegates will receive a Ladder & Stepladder for Users e-certificate accredited by the Ladder Association, valid for a period of 5 years from the completion date of the course.
