Kentec Training is proud to be featured in Construction Management magazine’s latest article, “Digital tools with a human touch: the future of MEWP training” written by CM People Editor Nadine Buddoo.

The feature explores how digital technology — from e-learning and simulators to AI-powered feedback and e-certification — is transforming powered access (MEWP) training across the industry. But at the heart of the piece lies one clear message: while technology enhances training, it can never replace the value of human expertise and hands-on instruction.

Our Managing Director, Steve Booker, shared insights on how Kentec Training has embraced this digital shift while maintaining our core focus on quality and safety.

“From digitised learning platforms and the ePAL app through to the use of simulators, the industry has seen a shift towards blended learning solutions,” said Steve.
“These developments allow us to provide training that is more flexible, engaging and accessible – while still meeting the high safety and compliance standards required in our sector.”

The article highlights the growing role of hybrid learning – combining online theory with practical, instructor-led sessions – and the importance of the “human element” in ensuring competent, confident operators.

Steve also discussed how technologies such as VR and AI may continue to support instructors in the future, providing data-driven insights to further enhance learner outcomes – but stressed that “the heart of effective MEWP training will remain the instructor.”
