Our Level 3 Award in Supervising First Aid for Mental Health delivers a minimum of 12 hours of classroom based theory and practical instruction and is designed to instruct up to a maximum of 16 delegates. This two day course is aimed at providing delegates with the knowledge to recognise a range of mental health conditions and learn about the support/therapy provided by professional healthcare providers. They will know how to start a supportive conversation, reduce stigma and when and how to signpost a person to seek appropriate professional help. Delegates will learn how to recognise and manage stress and understand the impact of substance abuse. They will learn about the first aid action plan for mental health, be able to put it in place and know how to implement a positive mental health culture in the workplace.
Delegates will not diagnose or treat mental health conditions, as this can only be carried out by a health care profession, but will gain the knowledge to identify when a person many have a condition and know where they can go to get help.
This course consists of a training room lecture, presentation, written assessment, practical training and assessment.

Upon successful completion of the qualification assessment, Learners will be awarded the Ofqual regulated Level 3 Award in Supervising First Aid for Mental Health. This qualification does not have an expiration date, but it is vital that delegates keep informed with changes to policies, procedures and new legislation through ongoing CPD. We recommend that courses are refreshed every three years.

No. As this is a classroom-based course, you are not required to bring any Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). For certain training sessions, temporary equipment such as safety harnesses may be provided if required.
‘Block Release’ courses are attended consecutively over sequential days, allowing you to complete the training quickly in a more intense, focused "block" of training. Whereas ‘Day Release’ courses typically run one or two days per week with ample space in-between each session, making it easier to balance your training alongside work and other commitments. Regardless of your chosen learning method, both formats cover the same content and lead to the same qualification.
