Our CITB TWSTC - Temporary Works Supervisor Training Course provides
delegates with the fundamental knowledge of the Temporary Works Supervisor (TWS)
role, and the application of BS 5975-1&2:2024 and other essential legislation, within
the role.
Delegates learn how to effectively manage the risk of
temporary works with particular attention on the role of a Temporary Works
Supervisor. Delegates will also learn how to avoid failure in temporary works
by adopting appropriate procedural controls, as outlined in BS
5975-1&2:2024.
Please note that the course price includes a same day resit,
in the event that delegates do not correctly answer a safety critical question.
This course consists of several training room lectures and presentations, and a
multiple-choice examination.
The CITB TWSTC - Temporary Works
Supervisor Training Course is ideal for those who currently hold, or are
about to hold, the role of a Temporary Works Supervisor (TWS), as well as those
who have a responsibility for supervising site operatives in the safe erection
and dismantling of any and all forms of temporary works on site.
Delegates should:
- Have a good understanding of
written & spoken English. If delegates have any problems with English
literacy or language comprehension, they must bring them to the attention of
their employer.

Supervisor Training Course includes:
- Identifying the different types
of temporary works
- Exploring the history of
temporary works, the causes and consequences of failure, and how to avoid
failure.
- Identifying the key roles and
responsibilities of primary stakeholders
- Understanding how the TWS
supports the TWC in the management and control of the design, materials,
components and key solutions of Temporary Works
- Understanding the key processes
that form a safe system of work
- Exploring
the importance of implementation risk classification and its impact on design
and risk management.
- Identify
key considerations which will help a TWS support their TWC in the coordination,
supervision and checking of works on site during the construction, erection and
dismantling of temporary works.
- Multiple-Choice Examination
Successful delegates will receive a TWSTC
- Temporary Works Supervisor Training Course e-certificate accredited by the
Construction Industry Training Board (CITB), valid for a period of 5 years from
the course date.
To remain
certified, the full CITB TWSTC - Temporary Works Supervisor Training Course will
need to be retaken once again.
