Course Overview

Our Insulated Aerial (IAD) Operator Course delivers a minimum of 7 hours of instruction to a maximum of 4 delegates. This course aims at providing training to prepare and safely operate an insulated boom MEWP (IAD) and material handling capabilities to obtain an IPAF IAD Operator Licence.

This course consists of a training room lecture, DVD presentation, written assessment and practical training and assessment.

This course is aimed at individuals who hold a current 1b category PAL Card for at least 6 months, with a filled in log book before they apply for the IPAF IAD Operator Course. These types of machines are commonly found in the electrical utility industry.

At the end of the theory session delegates will take a multiple-choice assessment paper. If they successfully pass, they will progress to the practical training and assessment where they will be required to operate an insulated aerial device around a designated course.

From 1st June 2021, Kentec Training will be registering all delegates through the IPAF Digital Card License Application (ePAL) system. This is inclusive within the course price.

For a physical copy of the PAL Card and A4 Certificate, this will incur an additional charge of £7.50 + vat per delegate. Please ensure this is requested prior to the course date, otherwise it will be treated as a replacement certificate at £30.00 + vat each.
