This course is aimed at project managers, foremen and supervisors working in a broad range of industries such as construction, facilities management, retail, airports and arboriculture who are or will be responsible for overseeing the use of MEWPs in the work place. There are no prerequisites required for this course although a working knowledge of MEWPs is an advantage.
If you have any problems with literacy or language comprehension, or have any doubts about your fitness to use an MEWP, you must bring them to the attention of your employer. This need not preclude you from using MEWPs, provided your employer conducts an assessment and is able to put into place adequate measures, to take account of any difficulties you may have.
Operatives will gain an understanding of planning, supervising and managing the use of MEWPs in the workplace. This certification does not give you competency to operate the machine. There is a written theory test at the end of the course.
Delegates who currently hold a valid Powered Access Licence (PAL) Card will have the MEWPs for Managers category (MM) added to their licence.
If delegates do not hold a current licence, they will receive an IPAF certificate.
Successful delegates will gain an understanding of current relevant legislation and best practice on a range of MEWPs and be able to supervise and oversee work on MEWPS safely, in line with current approved methods and manufacturer’s instructions. The course agenda includes:
- Current legislation, regulation, best practice and standards.
