Our Powertool Safety Principles Course delivers a minimum of 4 hours of instruction and is designed to teach up to a maximum of 12 delegates. It provides training to help individuals to work safely, understand current legislation and promote awareness of the dangers and hazards of portable power tools. The course is industry specific (construction/engineering/carpentry) and the range of power tools covered during the course can be tailored to suit your needs.
Employers must ‘ensure that all persons who use work equipment have received adequate training for the purposes of health and safety, including training in the methods which may be adopted when using work equipment, and risks which such use may entail and the precautions to be taken’ (PUWER regulation 9). There is a similar duty to ensure adequate training in relation to supervisory and managerial staff.
If you require training with live and powered powertools, please see our Powertool Safety - Principles and Practice Course.
Delegates who also use Abrasive Wheels on a regular basis, may benefit from attending our Portable Powertools and Abrasive Wheel Safety Course. Please note that there is no live practical on this course.
This course consists of a training room lecture, presentation, written assessment, unpowered practical training and assessment.
