Our Qualitative Face Fit Tester Course delivers a minimum of 6 hours of instruction and is designed to instruct up to a maximum of 8 delegates, providing training for those looking to be able to perform qualitative face fit testing for tight fitting RPE (Respiratory Protective Equipment) within their organisation for their own staff.
This course aims to provide delegates with the knowledge and skills required to conduct the fit testing, in compliance with the relevant legislation and HSE guidance found in HSG53 and INDG479. The course is delivered by a BSiF "Fit2Fit" accredited face fit tester and will help prepare the learners for a "Fit2Fit" assessment if they wish to demonstrate competence in this way.
Face Fit Testing kits are currently in stock and available. A Bitrex Testing kit is included in the course price of £370.00 + VAT.

This course is suitable for those who manage the RPE in their workplace and have been assigned the responsibility for carrying out in house qualitative face fit testing on their employees/staff.

Successful delegates will receive e-certification accredited by Kentec Training valid for a period of 3 years from the date of the course.
At the end of the theory session, delegates will take a short multiple choice test. If delegates successfully pass the test, they will then move onto the practical assessment, where they will be required to conduct a qualitative face fit test on test subject under the supervision of the instructor.

Yes, any individual attending a Fit2Fit face fitting training course (or service) for tight-fitting RPE must be clean-shaven to ensure a proper seal around the mask and the accuracy of the test. Failure to adopt this requirement will result in the delegate not being tested.
No. In order to ensure the Bitrex (bitter) or Saccharin (sweet) solution can be detected (tasted), delegates are required to not eat, drink, smoke or vape for at least 30 minutes before the fit test is performed. Failure to adopt this requirement will result in the delegate not being tested until another 30 minutes have passed.
A Bitrex Testing Kit (RRP £170.00) is included in the course price. If you do not wish to include this kit in with the course price, please contact our support team on 0333 666 0555.
No. As this is a classroom-based course, you are not required to bring any Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). For certain training sessions, temporary equipment such as safety harnesses may be provided if required.
