RTITB Forklift Training Courses are recognised by the HSE and provide learners with the skills and knowledge to correctly, safely and legally operate a range of Fork Trucks in the workplace.
For over forty years the name RTITB has been synonymous with training standards across the road freight and logistics industry.
For any employer or operator looking for effective workplace transport training one of the first questions is always ‘is it suitable?’ RTITB accreditation takes the guesswork and risk out of workplace transport training for employers and operators.
Kentec Training can cater for all workforces, private individuals and corporate clients including novices, experienced, and un-certified operators, as well as providing conversion certifications.
Forklift Training Courses Overview
The theory section of the courses cover the necessary legislation, the general principles of lifting and the operator’s code of conduct.
This lasts up to 5 hours and is normally delivered in a classroom format. The duration of the practical training will depend on the experience and number of learners. Each learner will spend a large amount of time on the forklift gaining experience and practicing skills.
The test consists of a theory test, pre-use check and a practical test of basic operating skills. By the end of the course the successful learners will have a detailed understanding of vehicle maintenance operations and the roles and responsibilities of Reach Truck and/or Counter Balance forklift drivers, including their legal responsibilities and the legislation affecting use.
We offer the full range of RTITB Training Courses as open public course at one of our training centres or alternatively, subject to facilities, the courses can be delivered at your offices or site.
RTITB Forklift Courses
By the end of the course, learners will be able to carry out a pre-shift inspection and operate the machine safely and correctly in accordance with manufacturer instructions and accepted good practice. They will also be able to load and unload vehicles and static racking, and understand the causes of instability of the truck and loads.
We will also ensure they have a thorough understanding of their responsibilities under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and any other relevant legislation.
On completion of the RTITB Theory test and RTITB practical test, successful learners will be presented with an RTITB approved certificate and will be registered onto the RTITB National Operators Register database of approved forklift truck operators (NORS).
