Managing Director, Co-Founder & Senior Instructor

Steve is the Managing Director, co-founder and senior instructor of Kentec Training. He is a Council member and Director of PASMA and an active member of PASMA and the Ladder Association, currently serving as Chairman of both the Ladder Association Committee and an active member and immediate past chairman of the PASMA Training Committee. Steve is regarded as one of the leading instructors within the access industry being called upon to talk at seminars and facilitate courses for senior health and safety professionals from local authorities, utilities, IOSH groups and government bodies including the H.S.E.

Steve provides strategic leadership, active management and takes particular responsibility for service and instructor standards. He ensures the company maintains outstanding levels of service, consistency matching the professionalism of our market leading clients and contractors.

Kandy is a co-founder of Kentec Training and has supported Steve from the very first day in building Kentec Training into one of the leading training providers in the UK.

Kandy has always been tenacious in achieving the very highest standard possible in customer service and procedural compliance. She has a broad depth of knowledge and experience in the training industry offering support and guidance to both customers and our team. Kandy’s friendly and supportive nature has ensured Kentec Training’s success and continued customer satisfaction.

Training Director

Jadie heads our training sales and administration teams and is responsible for ensuring that we meet the needs of our clients as effectively and efficiently as possible. Jadie is a graduate of Coventry University, her drive and focus on achieving outstanding results makes her a great asset to Kentec and our future. Jadie has successfully completed both Prince2 Foundation and Practitioner and IOSH Managing Safely qualifications and is currently working toward her NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety.

Jadie also heads our marketing and exhibition management team and has organised and attended several major industry exhibitions such as the Safety & Health Expo at the ExCel in London and the Kent Construction Focus Group exhibitions in Kent.

James has been with Kentec for over five years and has become one of our most respected and sought after instructors. He joined us as an experienced IPAF, PASMA, Ladder and Safety Harness Instructor, however, during his time at Kentec, James has been busy gaining additional instructor qualifications with IPAF, the Ladder Association, Tetra, First Aid, RD4000,7000 and 8000 cable avoidance tools as well as achieving both his CIEH Professional Instructor and PTLLs teaching qualifications.

James’s proven skill, support and experience when instructing has resulted in excellent feedback from his course candidates at all levels.

Chris joined us as an instructor after a long career in the armed forces. His dedication in achieving his goals is inspiring as he has successfully achieved his AoFA First Aid, PASMA, Ladder Association, Safety Harness and BAF Abrasive Wheel instructor courses as well as the NEBOSH National General and Construction Certificates in Occupational Health and Safety.

Chris’s current specialist course is First Aid as he has an exceptional understanding and experience in this field after serving as a team medic in some very demanding situations.

Robin KingRobin King

Training Instructor

Robin joins us as an established and experienced instructor who is well respected within the training industry. Robin trained to become an IPAF Instructor in March 2007 and a PASMA Instructor in July 2007.

Robin specialises in Work at Height Training but is also a qualified instructor for Ladders & Stepladders, Safety Harness, Cable Avoidance Tools (CAT & Genny) and Abrasive Wheels. We welcome him to our ever growing team of instructors.

Sean joins us as another established and experienced IPAF, PASMA, Working at Height, Safety Harness, Manual Handling and Ladder Association instructor. Sean has also successfully completed his NEBOSH General Certificate in Health & Safety as well as BOHS P402 Asbestos qualifications and will also be delivering a range of IOSH, UKATA and CIEH training courses. Sean has over 9 years experience as a professional trainer which can be witnessed in the many positive reviews he receives from his trainees.

Richard joined Kentec’s team of instructors back in 2014 specialising in the facilitation of CITB National Safety Courses such as CITB Health & Safety Awareness, SSSTS and SMSTS.

Richard’s experience and wealth of knowledge has resulted in some outstanding results in the training room and positive feedback.

Graham has worked as a Kentec instructor for several year now specialising in the delivery of IOSH Managing and Working Safely courses as well as some of our CIEH accredited course programs. Graham also works in general Health & Safety support and consultancy including the writing of risk assessment, method statements and client safety policy.

Stephen has recently joined the Kentec team after completing his NEBOSH National Certificate in Construction Health and Safety. Stephen has over 25 years experience as a senior manager in waste management and the construction industry. He is currently undergoing training and mentoring to become a CITB Construction Skills instructor with an aim to facilitating CITB Health & Safety Awareness, SSSTS and SMSTS very soon.

Nick has recently joined the team of Kentec Instructors to continue to meet the increasing demand we have for UKATA Asbestos Awareness training courses and General Health & Safety support and consultancy including COSHH, Risk Assessment and Policy. Nick has a broad and deep level of experience and will be a valuable member and asset to our growing team of outstanding instructors.

Mark joined Kentec Trainings team of instructors back in 2009 to further strengthen our team of IPAF instructors. Mark has been an instructor for over 10 years and is a fully qualified IPAF Senior Instructor. Mark has a comprehensive experience with the access industry with Mobile Access Towers, MEWPs, MCWPs, Suspended Access and Scaffolding.

Tony has been working as one of our team of instructors since early in 2013. Tony is an IPAF Instructor with over 5 years of experience as an instructor and over 15 years in the access industry especially with MEWP technical and operational maintenance and inspections. Tony is an easy going instructor with an outstanding rapport with his students resulting in positive feedback from all of his courses.

Kevin joins the Kentec Team after a long career in the transport industry. Kevin’s career started some 40 years ago as a HGV class 1 Driver working in distribution and warehousing. Kevin then spent 25 years in transport management running fleets of up to 200 vehicles and responsible for driver training. Kevin has been a full time instructor for the past 6 years specialising in forklift truck and transport related training. Kevin is qualified to instruct most types of industrial fork trucks, driver CPC, first aid and manual handling.

Gill is a long standing PASMA Instructor and Rigger. Gill bring a wealth or experience from the Mobile Access Tower industry and has received outstanding reviews from those attending her courses. Gill offer the full range of PASMA Training courses including the advanced modules.

Gill was recently elected as Vice-Chair of PASMA and we all look forward to her taking the chair in 2017. A member of PASMA’s governing body since 1988 and the Association’s Hire Assembly committee since 2013, Gillian has been a life-long member of the Association, and was one of the first women to successfully complete the PASMA ‘Towers for Users’ course aged just 17.

Lee is a well respected PASMA and IPAF Instructor. Lee comes with a vast knowledge of Powered Access after being in the industry for over 15 years progressing from a Driver, Driver Operator to an instructor specialising in in Large Powered Access and Spider Booms as well as PASMA Mobile Tower Training.

Lee has received high praise from both his candidates and colleagues for his teaching style and attitude toward getting the best results, he is a valued addition to the Kentec training team.

Helena has been with Kentec for some time in our sales team. Helena is a graduate of the University of Portsmouth where she demonstrated the drive and focus to achieve outstanding results. She is currently working through her NCRQ Level 6 Diploma in Applied Health and Safety.

Helena has demonstrated a great ability to lead customers through the course booking process, ensuring our clients receive the most effective training possible.
