Lay the Foundational Knowledge with our Safety Harness - Essentials Course!

Working at height with safety harnesses demands more than just wearing the right kit; it requires the knowledge to use it correctly and safely. Our Safety Harness - Essentials Course provides delegates with the fundamental understanding needed to confidently identify, select, fit and use safety harnesses, lanyards, connectors, anchor points and other associated fall protection equipment (FPE). The course is IPAF-approved and designed to support safe, compliant working practices at height.

Through a combination of classroom learning and hands-on practical exercises, delegates gain essential knowledge of current legislation, including the Work at Height Regulations 2005, alongside practical skills such as pre-use checks, basic inspections, and correct harness fitting and adjustment.

The course also covers working safely in MEWPs, rescue planning considerations, and key factors that influence fall risk. ensuring delegates leave with the competence and confidence to work safely when using safety harness systems.

Successful delegates receive an IPAF-approved Safety Harness Essentials e-certificate issued by Kentec Training, valid for three years. For those responsible for inspecting fall protection equipment, the course also provides a seamless progression into our Safety Harness – Inspection Course, delivered on the same day.

Formal inspection of fall protection equipment isn’t just good practice - it’s a legal responsibility. Our Safety Harness – Inspection Course equips delegates with the competence and confidence to carry out thorough, compliant interim and detailed inspections of safety harnesses and associated fall protection equipment (FPE). The course is IPAF-approved and designed to help organisations stay compliant, reduce risk, and protect both people and businesses.

When a fall occurs, having the right equipment isn’t enough. A fast, effective rescue can be the difference between life and death. Our Safety Harness – Work At Height Rescue Course gives delegates the skills, confidence and competence to safely carry out the remote rescue and retrieval of a suspended casualty following an arrested fall. The course is IPAF-approved and designed to help organisations meet their legal duty to plan for emergencies when working at height.

Combining expert-led classroom learning with realistic, hands-on practical rescue training, delegates gain experience using commonly available ascent and descent rescue systems, along with controlled descent devices.
