Face Fit Courses

Many workers wear respirators or breathing apparatus to protect their health in the workplace. When wearing tight fitting masks, the user must ensure that a 'fit check' of the seal when put on. All people involved in the selection, use, storage and maintenance of RPE require training. Kentec Training offer both the Qualitative Face Fitting Service and Train the Tester Course to address these issues.

Qualitative Face Fit Testing Courses are available for those who wish to be able to manage the respiratory protective equipment (RPE) within their organisation and conduct in house face fit services for their staff. Employers are required by the HSE to provide suitable RPE to their employees and have documented evidence of inspection.

Where RPE is used as a control measure, it is vital that the selected RPE is adequate and suitable. Any tight fitting RPE must be fit tested. As people come in all shapes and sizes, it is unlikely that one type of respiratory facepiece will fit everyone, therefore fit testing helps to ensure that th equipment selected is suitable for the wearer.
